Last week, I sat down to write
my Instagram posts, Facebook posts, Twitter tweets and Instagram stories.
What a digital world we live in. In literally a matter of months, marketing has made dramatic changes. But what
I have realized is that marketing is not the clicks and attempts to fool Google…not at all. Though the plethora of
consultants that have invaded the digital marketplace is ten times what it was 24 months ago, they all seem to be
experts on what buttons to click, yet not on what message to promote. When I explain how this company works

and how we get our wines and how we produce the value we do, they
revert to what buttons I should be clicking. They don’t get it.
So here it is: My job is to find you the best wines I can find for the club
you are in. Notice I said MY job, not the job of a panel, not the job of
a 1099 employee, not the job of a broker, MY job. My name is on the
selections; I take the responsibility. And since I have been tasting each
Tuesday (without fail unless I am out of town) for the past 30 years…I
think I get it (that was sarcastic…I get it).
